With a victory over North Forsyth, your Warriors are off to a 1-0 start. The game opened with the Warriors and the Raiders trading punts. The the Warriors D came up with a big fumble recovery to begin an important field position swing. The Warriors were working to get something going on offense, but settled for a beautiful rolling punt that settled on the 1 yard line, placing the Raiders deep in their own end zone. On the opening play of the Raiders third offensive series, Warrior Senior TJ Parks met the Raiders RB in the backfield for a HUGE safety, putting the Warriors on the board. With the Warriors up 2-0, the offense took over and put together a 7 play drive, but the drive stalled and the Warriors once again punted. For the second time in the half the punt was downed on the 1 yard line and the Raiders were once again backed up.

Following a Raider punt, the Warriors began their next offensive series with great field position. After a nine play drive the Warriors attempted a 37 yard field goal that came up just short. The Raiders put together an impressive series following the Warriors missed kick, but the Warrior D rallied with a diving interception. The Warriors and Raiders then traded punts again as the Warriors were still working to get something going on offense. Finally the Warriors hit the end zone on a beautifully executed screen to the right from Sophomore QB AJ Swann to Senior WR Devin Ellison, that capped off an 8 play drive. The Warriors headed into half time up 9-0.

On the opening drive of the second half the Warrior D held tough forcing a Raiders punt. On the next series, the Warriors put together a strong 10 play drive capped off by a short pass from Sophomore QB AJ Swann to Sophomore RB Keith Adams Jr.. The 11 yard TD pass put the Warriors up 16-0. The Raiders followed with an impressive drive of their own as they went into an unbalanced heavy set and pounded the ball four straight plays inside the 20 to put their first points in the board. The Raiders lined up in t he same heavy set for the successful two point try. With the score 16-8, the Warriors wasted no time, as Swann hit Senior Landon Ergle for a 74 yard TD on the very first play of the Warriors next series. Just like that the Warriors opened the lead up 22-8.

A Raider punt on their next series pinned the Warriors inside their own five, and struggling to come out, the Warriors settled for a punt. A short punt set the Raiders up on the Warriors 25 yard line and the Raiders immediately took advantage hitting a 25 yard post for the TD. The Raiders’ 2 point attempt failed setting the score at 22-14. Once again the Warriors quick strike took the air out of the Raiders as Swann handed Sophomore Adarrius Harshaw a sweep around the right side that ended 76 yards later in end zone. The Warriors went up 29-14 and that was that. Next up Sequoyah!
