Cherokee High School
The Warriors traveled to Forsyth Central for their third straight road game of the year. It was the home team that struck first on the night as they took advantage of miscommunication in the Warrior defense. However, the Warriors would respond before the end of the half with persistent pressure on the Bulldogs. Morgan Steinberg made a impressive run through the defense and provided Kirsti Zell with an assist. Kirsti Zell took over sole possession as the team’s leading goal scorer on the year. Half way through the second half, the Bulldogs took the lead off of a corner kick. The Warriors would fight back with some great play and have a couple of chances of their own, but were unable to convert to tie the game. The student section did their part with constant cheering and chanting all the way to the end. The Bulldogs held on for a 2-1 victory and improved to
3-1 on the year. The Warriors, now 0-2-1, will take on Woodland in their home opener tonight at 5:30. Come out and support your Warriors!
